Hypocrisy Watch: Michael Vick

This wasn’t going to be today’s Hypocrisy Watch but with the annoucment of Mike Vick signing with the Philadelphia Eagles, the number of people condemning him and the Eagles is at an all time high.  I’ve always said Vick was an idiot (and also, what’s been lost in the conversation…not a very good quarterback) and that I didn’t care if he didn’t play again.  But I take serious issue with people still mad that Vick is trying to move on when he served a sentence harsher than most child molesters.  Hell, Chris Brown beat a woman and he’s not seeing a day in jail and Dontae Stallworth KILLED A MAN and only saw 24 days in jail.

Leading the charge against the “doggie murderer” is that wonderful group PETA.  Look, I’m an animal lover myself.  I grew up with pets, I look down on any cruelty to animals and I’m a supporter of protecting our environment.  However, PETA is a lunatic fringe group.  These are the same people that at one point compared the conditions in meat slaughterhouses with the conditions of the Holocaust and slavery.  Fuck PETA.  They’re only focusing on Mike Vick right now because it gets their name in the news.
